Non invasive techniques have been shown to be useful in the investigation of skin physiology, quantification of skin disease and in the evaluation of the effects of topically applied products, in particular to measure non visible or minimal skin changes. Indeed, numerical data can quantify skin changes and can be processed statistically, allowing an objective scientific approach. However, some subjective changes appreciated by consumers in cosmetic products can be only evaluated with sensorial analysis or use tests.
