Together with the beneficial effects of the sun on our physical and psychological condition, it has become essential to inform those who expose their skin to the sun on the harmful effects of the UV rays and the need to take appropriate measures of photoprotection.
Therefore, solar exposure must be cautious and controlled. The sunscreen products must ensure appropriate protection and clear information about their use.
As result of the policy of the European legislative authorities and the scientific committees of different associations, there have been made remarkable revisions to the guidelines concerning the assessment methods of sunscreen products and the terminology to be used when labelling them.
In conclusion, effective photoprotection and clear communication represent the best way to keep our skin healthy.
In the present paper we will have a look to the in-vivo tests used for labelling the sun products and some new claims.
