Roka Furadada is a Deep-Tech start-up founded in Barcelona in 2019 with a clear mission: to reduce the incidence of skin cancer and other skin diseases related to UV radiation through research, develoment, production and sales of highly efficient active ingredients, with low toxicological and environmental impact. ROKA Smart UV® absorbers are photochemical precursors that “switch on” when the user is exposed to sunlight, offering tailor-made, high and long-lasting photoprotection. PvB 360 is the first commercially available photoadaptive solar active based on ROKA Smart UV® technology and is designed to enhance protection in the UVA spectrum. Efficacy studies prove the ability of this ingredient to behave as a UVA booster after 6 hours irradiation in vitro and to prevent skin photoaging through the protection of mitochondrial DNA. It has also been shown to provide additional protection against hair colour fading after UV-exposure. Its use is recommended in cosmetic formulations for sun care, skin care (anti-aging and moisturizing day creams), hair care and make-up.
