The Colours of Matisse

Each fragrance company will create a fragrance according to the colour assigned to them part of the painting Odalisque in red jacket’ by Matisse – Matisse was chosen to commemorate the 70th anniversary of his death and add historical significance to the event.

The fragrances will be showcased at Making Cosmetics on both days, where each visitor will be able to experience synesthesia, a perceptual phenomenon in which two senses, in this case smell and sight; perceived as distinct, manifest simultaneously, creating a rich and engaging experience that seems incredibly vivid and alive

A captivating, multi-sensory experience! Through the fusion of art, scent and expertise, visitors will gain a deeper understanding of Matisse’s work and the intricate relationship between colour and scent. The presentation by a renowned scent designer, Ermano Picco, adds a further level of understanding of the creative process behind each fragrance.
