For many years, most of the anti-inflammatory solutions for scalp care mainly focus on decreasing pro-inflammatory mediators to help improve scalp condition.

However, recent studies have discovered a new family of molecules, the Specialized Pro-resolving Mediators (SPMs), and found they were essential to promote the return to homeostasis. Produced during the 3rd phase of inflammation called resolution, SPMs also demonstrated their importance to resolve inflammation and reduce oxidative stress.

SPMs had been studied only in skin and showed great efficacy to end chronic inflammation process and promote tissue regeneration. Considering the fact that inflammation and oxidative stress are key elements characterizing unhealthy scalp leading to conditions such as dandruff appearance, sebum excess on scalp and hair or hair dull appearance, Lucas Meyer Cosmetics investigated the presence and the role of SPMs on scalp for the first time in science and cosmetics.

ReviScalp™, a natural and sustainable active ingredient from the endemic

Australian Aniseed Myrtle tree, was proven to boost the production of SPMs on scalp to accelerate the return to scalp homeostasis providing a healthy scalp and brighter hair answering to the skinification trend.
