Hair cleansers and most specifically liquid shampoos have to fulfill important technical challenges to fit with consumers expectations, but they also have to further meet up the unexpressed ones. Also the main criteria to be considered and evaluated are the visual appearance, the foam’s texture and the after-rinse’s touch of hair. The most relevant method to evaluate shampoo sensory performance is the sensory evaluation => to score the different sensory attributes => needs the help of a panel of trained judges. However this method is time consuming and not relevant for product development/needs data to assure safety. Therefore, instrumental investigation is preferred to save time on formulation screening. The aim of the present study is to investigate the sensory profile of 3 formulated shampoos with only one ingredient changing. The objective was to study the substitution of 2 commons silicone on the sensory performance of the foam.
